STRAY INTAKE: 1/15/2016
INTIAL EXAM:
Microchip: negative
Sex: neutered male
Age: appx 6y
Mentation: BARH, painful
Eyes: clear
Ears: clean
Nose: no d/c
Teeth: moderate staining with tartar
If abnormal BCS: overwieght, fatty abdomen
Skin: WNL
Hair Coat: WNL
Declawed: no
Any injuries: dribbling blood from urethra, can palpate bladder and express, some clots followed urine, painful when touched, does not appear blocked as cat will urinate without straining (stones?)
Behavior: painful but allowed all handling
Medication: rec 1/2 tab prazosin (0.5mg) PO, 100ml SQF, 0.54ml diazepam IV (for bladder relaxation), 0.34ml buprenorphine PO with privacy curtain and clay litter set up; preventatives given
RE-EXAM:
01/16/16 11:13 – Urinated moderate amount of bloody urine, not obstructed.
VC: Possible bladder stones, does not appear blocked
S/O: QARH, no ocular or nasal discharge. Severe dental disease. Lenticular sclerosis OU. Parasternal grade 4/6 systolic heart murmur. Normal BV sounds in lungs. Dried blood present around prepuce. Bladder was moderate in size, palpates firm and irregular. Unable to express any urine, but bladder did not feel full of fluid. Does not appear to be eating.
A: Severe cystitis/FLUTD, bladder is either severely thickened, possible stones or bladder mass. Appears older than 6yr, approx 10yr.
P: Continue current treatment and monitoring. Recommend NH placement w/ 1pm deadline if not eating.
Prognosis: Poor
