***SAFE 10/21/16***CICILY WAS FOUND AND BROUGHT TO THE ACC… PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS! Good deed or not, it only means that this 5 trails has less than 24 hours to be placed. And because her fear escalated when she was thrown in a cage ( would anyone be happy being locked up??), The assessment team has her at RESCUE ONLY! PLEASE consider NEW HOPE RESCUE on her behalf, and offer to FOSTER or ADOPT! Don’t let her last hours of life be in a cage, all alone and very scared!

10/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cicily was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder reports she allowed them to pick her up and place her into a carrier. She allowed handling upon intake, but hissed while being held. Once placed back into her carrier, she hissed and swiped the counselor. She no longer allowed handling afterwards and continued to charge. She also displayed distance-increasing behaviors during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Cicily was inside a den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Cicily does not react and remains motionless inside her den. Reaction to cage door opening: Cicily becomes stiff and alert, looking out from a hole on the den. Reaction to touch: Cicily does not allow touch; she growls, hisses, spits, and attempts to strike the assessor’s hand when near the den. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Cicily is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, scratch, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
