10/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Celie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Celie was at the front of the kennel eating her food. Reaction when softly spoken to: Celie turned around, made eye contact with the assessor then hissed. Reaction to cage door opening: Celie remains neutral and watches the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to touch: Celie appears hesitant of contact, leans away and squints when the assessor extends his hand out. She allows petting with a slow, soft approach then lightly raises her body when touched along her back. Her body feels a bit tense, she occasionally lip licks and she can become uncomfortable after being pet for too long. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Celie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
