**SAFE 07/03/16** BODACIOUS BROOKS!! Four years old and NEUTERED!!…..A volunteer writes: Brooks reminds me of a security guard. He’s a big fellow, sits straight up in his kennel and seems to be keeping watch over what’s going on around him. But don’t let his appearance fool you. Brooks is a friendly cat who enjoys being petted immensely. He would let his guard down for some special loving, I think, and if you took him home, his main job would be keeping watch over his food bowl!…DON’T WAIT TO APPLY!! THESE CATS NEED YOU NOW!! If you need help, email [email protected]

06/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Brooks does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Brooks does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Brooks remains motionless Reaction to touch: Brooks seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Brooks is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience Brooks was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying timid behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. After a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little and I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
