Hello, my name is Bobbi. My animal id is #18175. I am a desexed male black cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 10 years old. – P
I came into the shelter as a aco impound on 12-Jan-2018.

Bobbi is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other cats. Bobbi has been friendly and allows all handling in the care center.

Left ear tipped Subjective: BARH Observed Behavior – Calm for exam, allowed all handling Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – No Objective T = WNL P = WNL R = WNL BCS 6/9 EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, moderate conjunctivitis OU, moderate brown waxy debris AU, moderate mucoid nasal and ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: Missing most teeth, moderate gingivitis and dental tartar PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Neutered male MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dull brittle hair coat with large areas of matting along dorsum CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Geriatric URI, conjunctivitis Dental disease Prognosis: Good Plan: Rec doxycycline 1.3ml PO q24 x 10 days, erythromycin OU q12 x 10 days – first dose given of each. Eyes and ears cleaned, matting shaved. Continue to monitor while at BACC

Objective EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, moderate conjunctivitis OU with purulent ocular d/c, purulent nasal d/c H/L: Eupneic but congested, normal RR/RE MSI: Ambulatory x 4, unkempt CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Geriatric URI, conjunctivitis Dental disease Decreased appetite Prognosis: Good Plan: Continue doxycycline until 1/22 Continue erythromycin until 1/22 Start nebulization SID x3d until 1/16 Give one dose mirtazapine 3.75mg PO once Recheck 1/16 Continue to monitor while at BACC

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: 01/13/18 Calm for exam, allowed all handling

Reaction to assessor:: Bobbi was curled up and resting at the back of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Bobbi lip licks, then lifts her head up to make eye contact with the assessor.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Bobbi remains motionless.
Reaction to touch:: Bobbi sniffs the assessor’s hand, then leans in allowing petting and rubs along her body. She arches her back and gives head butts when pet.
Reaction to being picked up:: Bobbi was tense when picked up and struggled to be put down.
