10/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Betty was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Betty was playful and bouncing around in the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Betty becomes alert then quickly shifts away and curls up. Reaction to cage door opening: Betty remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Betty is unsure of contact and leans away with wide eyes when the assessor extends his hand forward. He closes his eyes when pet, seems uncomfortable and takes time before he leans in when rubbed. Reaction to being picked up: Betty was a bit tense when picked up but slowly relaxes in the assessor’s arms. He retreats to the back when placed down. Behavior Determination: Experience Betty may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
