ASH – A1078297
Safe - 7-5-2016 Manhattan
**SAFE 07/05/16**
LET DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES! Gentle ASH is only about 8 months old, but this girl has been through far too much over the course of her short life. Her original owner passed away and had made arrangements for someone to inherit Ash, so that was definitely some good thinking! Unfortunately, her most recent owner BETRAYED the trust of the deceased friend, and BETRAYED this handsome baby girl by dumping her at the ACC when their “significant other” decided they didn’t want Ash around. Those are the kinds of control issues that would be a RED FLAG for many people, and it’s a shame that ASH didn’t belong to someone who was willing to stand up for themselves (and Ash) by sticking with the promise they’d made their deceased friend. Now ASH is about to be killed and there is NO legitimate reason that should be allowed to happen. She has an EXPNOCHILD rating and needs a foster/adopter to save her life, tonight!

06/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ash’s former owner stated around strangers she is friendly/outgoing. She has lived with a male cat briefly and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed/affectionate with them and the adults. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow & quiet with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Ash looks tense in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Ash remains crouched position on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Ash accepts a brief stroke, but began to growl, swat, and hiss at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Ash tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
