I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 09/22/2017 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was TOO MANY P. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-112154.

09/22/17 16:04 Basic Information: Uniqua came in with her 5 other siblings as a surrender. They were born in the finder’s yard and have been in the same home since they were first born. Unfortunately due to too many pets they could not be kept. There’s no record of them ever going to the vet. Socialization Around strangers and children Uniqua is known as friendly, affectionate and will play gentle with both adults and children. She has been socialized with her sibling cats only and is known to be relaxed and respectful of them. She has not been around dogs so behavior is unknown. There is no bite or scratch history. Behavior She will occasionally hide in fear and will sleep during car rides. There are no litter box problems. She has never had a bath or had her nails trimmed, isn’t bothered with being placed in a carrier, being bothered while resting and enjoys being picked up and being brushed. For the new family to know Owner described her as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, quiet, confident, shy and independent with a high activity level. When owner is home Uniqua follows him around. She likes to play with catnip toys, balls and strings. She is a mostly indoor cat. She can sleep anywhere and ate both wet and dry food Fancy Feast. She used a hooded litter box with fresh step litter. She likes a scratching post made of cardboard. Upon intake this cat allowed all handling. It allowed being collared and being held. When going to pet the cat was receptive to head rubs and began to purr. The cat had a very relaxed body.

KNOWN HISTORY: Uniqua was brought in without information on her behavior history or tendencies in a home environment. She allowed all handling during intake and was receptive to head rubs. She began to purr and had a very relaxed body. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – ill kitten, difficult to assess EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Uniqua was curled up with her siblings, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Uniqua looks at the assessor with soft eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Uniqua remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Uniqua sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting. She lies down on her back and then begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Uniqua remains calm and allows handling to be conducted. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Playful BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Uniqua interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
