They are a little nervous and who can honestly blame them. They are stuck in small cages in a noisy environment and that is not the worst part. As we know if no one takes interest in helping ROLO & TWIZZLER they will both be killed. You have the power to stop this before it happens. Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Twizzler was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Twizzler was curled up at the back of the kennel watching the assessor’s movements. Reaction when softly spoken to: Twizzler’s ears perk up and her eyes widen when spoken to softly. She lip licks then lowers her head trying to avoid eye contact. Reaction to cage door opening: Twizzler remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Twizzler has a tense body and curls up tighter when the assessor approaches her. She lip licks with wide eyes focused on all movements then flinches when touched. Her eyes close then she slowly lowers her head when touched along her body. Reaction to being picked up: Twizzler becomes very tense, lip licks then struggles to be put down Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Twizzler tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
