Safe - 10-14-2016 Brooklyn
***SAFE 10/14/16*** JESSE WAS TRAPPED BY LAGUARDIA AIRPORT!! How scary must it have been for JESSE to be around a noisy airport and then end up in a trap! He was brought to the shelter and is perfectly healthy. JESSE may be a lost pet but there is no time left to find out since he is not microchipped. JESSE is understandably afraid but he is available tonight on the public list. This handsome house panther needs a hero to rescue him from being killed at noon tomorrow. WHO WILL BE THE PURRSON TO GIVE JESSE A FREEDOM RIDE TONIGHT? CONTACT A RESCUE NOW OR EMAIL THE HELP DESK AT [email protected] FOR MORE INFO.

10/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jessie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Jessie was at the back of the kennel pressed up against the wall. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jessie has wide eyes focused on the assessor and lies motionless. Reaction to cage door opening: Jessie remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Jessie leans away with ears bent flat when the assessor extends his hand out. He lip licks and hisses when touched for the first time. His body is very tense and he slowly shifts away into the litter box trying to avoid contact. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Jessie attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
