He will need to be quarantined at a vet clinic or can be quarantined in a home with permission from DOH in the 5 boroughs. If leaving the 5 boroughs, quarantine MUST be approved by the receiving city or township DOH. Please note, the 5 boroughs are easier for in home quarantine.

05/31/17 10:48 Basic Information: Tchalla is a domestic short hair cat who was found as stray about a month before being surrendered due to his injuries. Tchalla is litter box trained and enjoys being pet ad rubbed by people. Tchalla stays mostly outdoors and will come back to be pet and to get food from his finders. Intake Behavior: Tchalla allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression. Tchalla enjoyed being pet by staff and would meow for attention.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 5/31/17- Observed Behavior – allows all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 6/1/17- Came to the front on approach, soft eyes and body, started meowing. Leaned and arched enthusiastically into pets, purred, almost fell over! Started playing gently with catnip toy and rolling over. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Tchalla immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Tchalla remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Tchalla head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Tchalla interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
