**SAFE 04/19/16** RALLY AROUND STRIPES! This handsome tabby boy is less than 2 years old, and has spent the last two weeks sharing space with people and a small dog. Stripes got to where he would hang out in the same room as the dog, so that is good progress over a fairly short time frame. Now this EXPERIENCE-rated boy needs a foster/adopter to save him from the needle of death, tomorrow. Please do everything possible to advocate widely for STRIPES tonight!

04/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Stripes. At the time he sniffed hand and tilts head allowing rubs. Stripes takes time to warm up and makes very slow movements. Reaction to assessor: Stripes does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Stripes does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Stripes remains motionless Reaction to touch: Stripes seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Stripes is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Stripes was displaying indifferent behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionlesss as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
