SAFE 7/2/18 A volunteer writes: Stella is as irresistible as an ice cream sundae with the fixin’s. She is demure but so affectionate. She is calm but very friendly. She is just so well-behaved but she really wants to find her forever people. She wants to be just right so someone as lovely as she will take her home and never regret it for a second. She’s that good.
Stella is a 6 year old, DSH female who was spayed prior to coming into the shelter. She has no known health issues or injuries and has not seen a vet recently. She was found as a stray 6 years ago and was surrendered due to the personal conflict in the family.

Stella was crouched in her litter box, and makes eye contact with the assessor when approached.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Stella lip licks and slowly looks around the room, scanning her surroundings.
Reaction to cage door opening:
Stella is tense and alert.
Reaction to touch:
Stella sniffs the assessor, then inches away and shrinks her body. She’s hesitant at first, but perks up and starts to warm up when rubbed on her cheeks. She raises her rear when pet on the base of her tail, gives head butts and appreciates attention.
Reaction to being picked up:
Stella was tense when picked up, and struggled to be put down.

Stella is described as being shy and mellow. She has been a mainly indoor cat but did go in the garden during supervised times. She likes to play with all kinds of toys and sleeps anywhere in the home. She ate both wet and dry food and was litter box trained to go in an uncovered box with clumping or clay litter. Stella liked to scratch on the curtains in her home.
Behavior Notes:
Stella was shy to come out of the carrier, but once on the table she was head butting counselor and raising her tail when being rubbed. She allowed for all handling with ease.
