*** SAFE 04/29/16 *** LOST HIS HOME AND HIS OWNER AND NOW MAY LOSE HIS LIFE….SPANKY’S owner passed and as we see so many times no one cared enough to take SPANKY into their home…Already NEUTERED, SPANKY is on the shy and independent side and will need someone to let him grieve and give him space to blossom in a new environment. He did live with another cat and he is OK with respectful children….Because his world has turned upside down, SPANKY has a NEW HOPE rating. PLEASE GIVE THIS WONDERFUL CAT A CHANCE BY CONTACTING A NEW HOPE RESCUE AND OFFERING TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!! If you need assistance, email [email protected]

04/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Spankey and at the time he hissed when approached. Spankey leans away as you attempt to pet. Spankey had a tense body with ears flat. His back was arched with his tail lowered under body. Reaction to assessor: Spankey does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Spankey does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Spankey becomes stiff, alert Reaction to touch: Spankey leans away from touch and raises his paw. Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Spankey seems to not be thriving in this environment at the time of the assessment. He was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
