I am a male black and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 15 WEEKS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/04/2016 from NY 11434, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-080417.

11/13/2016 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 5 C – SEVERE CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is AVERAGE, Weight 3.2 LBS.
11/13/16 Rejected from surgery for possible ringworm. Dvm found crusty alopecia spots on abdomen. O: BARH. Active, eating well. mm=pink, moist. EENT: No oculonasal discharge. INTEG: Ventral abdomen – 1 cm circular, alopecic, yellow crusted lesion. No skin lesions seen elsewhere. A: Suspicious for ringworm. P: Woods Lamp = Positive fluorescence on lesion, hairs on front paws. Confirms ringworm. Need to inform adopter and start ringworm treatment (Lime Dips, Terbinafine). Lime Dip twice weekly for minimum of 4 weeks. Start Terbinafine 20 mg/ml 2 ml Po q 24 hours x 4 weeks. Recheck 1 week to make sure he is tolerating oral medication. Excellent prognosis.

Shimo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He allowed all handling upon intake and during his initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Shimo was playing with some toys upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Shimo ignores the assessor and continues to play. Reaction to cage door opening: Shimo looks at the assessor and sits down calmly. Reaction to touch: Shimo was slightly hesitant, but accepts petting and starts to purr. Reaction to pick up: Shimo remains soft and continues to purr when held. Behavior Determination: Average Shimo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
