Hello, my name is Percy. My animal id is #9666. I am a desexed male brown tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 13-Oct-2017.
Percy is at risk due to an Upper Respiratory Infection which is contagious to other cats. Percy will require in home care with a course of antibiotics. At this time there are no known behavior concerns for Percy.

DVM Intake Exam – 0577 Estimated age: mature adult, ~ 3-4 yrs Microchip noted on Intake? scan negative on intake History : stray being taken care of by finder Subjective: BARH Observed Behavior -friendly, allowed PE Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective P = wnl R = wnl BCS 4/9 EENT: OS mild blepharospasm, mild clear ocular discharge, OD clear; AU mild dark waxy discharge; mild clear nasal, small superficial abrasion to nose Oral Exam: large superficial lesion on the left side of the tongue tip PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: nsf, NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: soft-non painful, no masses palpated U/G: neutered, no palp. testicles MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: external normal Assessment: mild conjunctivitis OS, lingual ulcer, nasal discharge r/o mild URI vs other Plan: TAB ophthal OS BID x 7 day – doxy 1.1 mL PO SID x 10 days – simbadol 0.7 ml SQ SID x 5 days – monitor appetite Px good SURGERY: neutered
Yesterday, I examined Percy (9666). He had a small, healing superficial skin abrasion on his nose. The wound is not severe and he exhibited no signs of rabies. He also has conjunctivitis and a healing lingual ulcer. DVM 0577
Recheck URI, conjunctivitis, lingual ulcer S/O -good appetite -BAR, very affectionate and interactive -soft sneezing, mild serous nasal discharge -OU: open and clear -appears eupnic A URI-appears active Lingual ulcer-did not recheck today Conjunctivitis-appears resolved P Cerenia 0.6 ml SQ SID x 2 days Extend doxycycline x 4 days Recheck on 10/25

Hx: Today is day 17 of doxycycline for prolonged URI. Today pt is purring, rubbing on the kennel door, and very bright! No nasal or ocular discharge. Okay to move out of isolation. 1088
Had persistent URI and doxycycline course was extended twice; has almost had 3 full weeks of doxy; appeared clear of URI but reported to be sneezing again S/O -BAR, very sweet, docile -good appetite -mm pk, moist -soft sneezing, serous nasal discharge -eupnic A URI-persistent; r/o viral infection exacerbated by shelter environment vs chronic rhinitis P move back to isolation baytril 100 mg/ml oral suspension:0.45 ml PO SID x 10 days nebulize SID x 4 days

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Came immediately to the front on approach, soft eyes and body, started rubbing against the bars and rolling over. Leaned and arched enthusiastically into pets, purred. Continually tried to walk out of cage, easily picked up and placed back in.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Percy stays at the front and rolls over.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Percy remains calm and relaxed.

Reaction to being picked up:: Percy sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and continues to purr.
