Profile
Basic Information
Olympias is an approximately 1 domestic short hair mix. She is being surrendered because the owner says Olympias does not get along with her and her other cat. She was adopted from the ACC a year ago.
Socialization
Around strangers, Olympias is very shy and somewhat fearful. She has lived mostly adults in the home. She has lived with another cat (the two cats were related to each other) however she would growl and hiss at the other cat and did not want to interact with the other cat. Olympias does not get along with children and would often scratch the owner’s 8 year old grandchild who visits the owner (last scratch over a month ago).
Behavior
Olympias has never had any litter box problems and uses the litter box daily. Olympias struggles when the owner tries to give her a bath, she has never had her nails trimmed, hair brushed and she does not like being held or put in a carrier (she will flee or attempt to scratch the person).
For a new family to know
The owner describes Olympias as shy and affectionate. She has a Medium activity level. Olympias loves to eat and sleep most of the day. Around the house, she hides in different spots in the home and prefers not to interact with people. She has never played with any cat toys. She sleeps mostly indoors anywhere in the house. Olympias was being fed Friskies brand dry and wet cat food 2 to 3 times a day. Olympias uses an open litter box with clumping cat litter every day and rarely has accidents. Olympias has never had a scratching post so the owner does not know if she will use it or not.
