Intake condition UNSPECIFIE Intake Date 03/20/2017, From NY 11234, DueOut Date 03/20/2017, I came in with Group/Litter #K17-091369.
Obama is a 7 year old neutered Black and white DSH mix; he came to his family as a stray, and is being surrendered due to the owner’s eviction. He has no known health issues or injures, and has no vet history.
Around strangers Obama is uninterested and mostly stays sleeping. He has been around children of ages 7 and 8 year old, and is gentle and respectful with the children. He has lived with two other cat but mostly keeps to himself, and has no bite history.
During car rides Obama does meow and cry, he isn’t bothered when someone is giving him a bath. Obama enjoys getting his coat brushed, and will struggle and try to flee when being placed in a carrier. Obama was described as affectionate playful with a high activity level by his previous family. He enjoys playing with balls and mouse toys. He was feed mostly wet food twice day and is litter-boxed trained. He uses an uncovered litter box with Fresh step litter. Obama has a horizontal scratching post made of cork.
Upon intake Obama was timid and tried to flee out of the carrier, he allowed the counselor to hold him and but was tense and slightly uncomfortable. He allowed collaring and photo to be taken.
MEDICAL:

History – Owner surrender, no medical concerns noted.
Subjective
Observed Behavior – Fearful, tense, allows all handling with towel restraint.
Evidence of Cruelty seen – No.
Evidence of Trauma seen – No.
Objective: QARH. mm=pink, moist.
ORAL: Limited exam – no obvious oral lesions, not able to examine teeth well.
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge or sneezing.
PLN: No enlargements noted.
H/L: HR=220, lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias.
ABD: Tense, non-painful. No masses/organomegaly.
U/G: Neutered male.
MS: Ambulatory x 4. BCS=5/9.
INTEG: Full, clean haircoat. No skin lesions or masses.
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities.
A: Apparently healthy adult cat. No age provided by owner – est. 7 yrs.
P: Monitor while at BACC.
Excellent prognosis.
