Intake condition EXAM REQ Intake Date 03/20/2017, From NY 11234, DueOut Date 03/20/2017, I came in with Group/Litter #K17-091369.
Red is a 13 year old neutered orange and white DSH mix; he was bred at home, and is being surrendered due to the owner’s eviction. He has no known health issues or injures, and has no vet history.
Around strangers Red is shy at first and mostly keeps to himself. He has been around children of ages 7 and 8 year old, and is gentle and respectful with the children. He has lived with two other cat but mostly keeps to himself, and has no bite history.
During car rides Red does meow and cry, he isn’t bothered when someone is giving him a bath. Red enjoys getting his coat brushed, and does not mind being place in a carrier. Ed was described as Friendly and mellow with a medium activity level by his previous family. He enjoyed playing with balls and mouse toys. He was feed mostly wet food twice day and is litter-boxed trained. He uses an uncovered litter box with Fresh step litter. Red has a horizontal scratching post made of cork.
Upon intake Red was very friendly he approached the counselor to rub his body against them and allowed petting, collaring and photo to be taken.
MEDICAL:
03/20/17
History – Owner surrender, 13 year old cat, no medical concerns noted. Microchip scan neg.
Subjective
Observed Behavior – Shy but social, calm, allows all handling.
Evidence of Cruelty seen – No.
Evidence of Trauma seen – No.
Objective: QARH. mm=lt pink, moist, CRT<2 s.
ORAL: Mild calculus, gingivitis.
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge or sneezing.
PLN: No enlargements noted.
H/L: HR=180, RR=16. Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias.
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated.
U/G: Neutered male.
MS: Ambulatory x 4, no lameness. BCS=5/9.
INTEG: Full, clean haircoat. No skin lesions or masses found.
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities.
A: Apparently healthy senior cat with mild dental disease.
P: Monitor while at BACC.
Good prognosis.
Weight 9.0
