Anesthesia Summary: Feline OHE Pre Medication/Induction: Ketamine 100mg/mL injectable, 0.15mL IM, once Dexdomitor 0.5mg/mL injectable, 0.15mL IM, once Butorphanol 10mg/mL injectable, 0.15mL, IM once Anesthesia Notes: Size 3fr. ET tube placed, maintained general anesthesia throughout procedure on variable isoflurane and variable O2. Used non-rebreathing system with 0.5L bag.22g IVC placed in right cephalic vessel. Intraoperative IV LRS at 5-10mL/kg/hr: 23mL/hr NSAID: Robenacoxib (Onsior) 20mg/mL injectable, 0.2mL, SQ, once, for post-operative pain relief. Given post operatively. Other: Simbadol 1.8mg/mL injectable, 0.3mL SQ, once, for pain relief, given post-operatively. Recovery Status: Uneventful Anesthetist/Surgical Monitor (P#’s): 1390/1482

Upon intake Oatmeal allowed minimal handling. Oatmeal would hiss when attempting to to remove from the carrier, had a tense body and dilated eyes. When removed from the carrier Oatmeal would meow and attempted to flee. Oatmeal allowed being collared however ran into the carrier afterwards. No further handling was performed.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: 2/6/18 Observed Behavior – fractious, will flee, could only conduct a minimal PE
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 2/7/18 Crouched in litter box, tense, eyes dilated. Lay in place when door opened, head down. Allowed all pets, no real response. 2/8/18 Resting in den, eyes a little dilated, but head up. Lay in place when den rotated and door opened. Allowed all pets, showed no real interest. Slowly ate a few treats after door closed.
Cage Condition:: No change
Reaction to assessor:: Oatmeal remains tense, crouched position with head down on her cage bedding.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Oatmeal becomes alert with eyes wide open.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Oatmeal remains immobile in place, ears erect and forward.
Reaction to touch:: Oatmeal accepts the touch while slowly increasing distance and stress meowing with ears turned to the side. After a few strokes, he remains in place with no interest towards the interactions.
