ENRICHMENT NOTES:

Huge eyes, tense, but calmed with slow, quiet interaction. Was in a single cage for some reason, opened the porthole so he could use the other side too, seemed to ease him a bit, appreciated the extra space. Showed interest in catnip, toys and chicken treat. Not quite ready for petting and handling, needs some time; Has potential to warm up here. Adding to socialization list.

Much better today! Seems to be familiar with me. Near front of cage, alert, attentive, posture is friendly and curious. Stays right at front, calm, when I open cage door, allows me to pet all over, leans into the attention, appreciative. He let me pick up and hold, didn’t want to be held for too long, but tolerant. Stayed social and friendly when I returned him to the cage. Likes chicken, overall not eating a lot yet. But, bright and alert. Using box appropriately. Appealing face, has naturally wide eyes. Removed “use caution” sticker. Doing well.

Standing up, like he usually does, alert, attentive, curious, taking it all in, right at front of kennel. Stays in place when I open cage door, is social and friendly, allows petting all over, leans in for more, appreciating the touching. Let’s me pick up and hold, gets a little tense while being held, but no problems handling and easy to return to kennel. Once back in kennel he returns right away to me and pushing chin in for attention. Seems to be doing really well. Will reexamine his behavior assess, which is affected by the negative feedback from his previous home. Is a sweet, affectionate, social cat and doing well.
