She has lived and spent time with 9, 7 and 13 year olds, around them she was relaxed and affectionate and also gentle at play. She lived with 3 other cats and was respectful of them. She also lived with small and large breed dogs. With large breed dogs she was very tolerant but hissed when they became rambunctious, with small dogs she was respectful and liked to cuddle. She enjoys being picked up. For a New Family to Know: Maria is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, confident, and talkative with a medium activity level. The two things her previous owner liked most were; she is vocal and smart. When her previous owner was home she would tend to follow her around only when hungry but typically liked hanging out in a high spot. She likes to play with cat nip toys and was kept indoors. At night she slept in her previous owner’s bed. She ate Friskies wet and dry food. She is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box and clumping litter. She did not have a scratching post but used the walls. Behavior during intake: Maria would roll around, purr, knead, give hugs, scent mark, lean into pets and put her face close to mine as if to give a kiss. She allowed me to pet her, collar her and pick her up. She went in and out her carrier easily and meowed for attention.
