SAFE 12/16/17 – Three adorable kittens are five weeks old and were brought in with diarrhea. They are friendly and need a foster home.

History : Stray kitten, came in with 2 other kittens, all had diarrhea on hind end
Subjective: Meows, bright, climbs out of carrier for exam
Observed Behavior – Calm, allows all handling, not timid
Objective
BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 4/9
EENT: Small dried crusts at medial canthus OU. Very mild specks of debris AU. No active nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: All deciduous teeth erupted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Soft, slightly distended, non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Female kitten
MSI: Some diarrhea caked near anus and vulva. Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat.
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Anus is slightly protruding.
Assessment: Diarrhea – R/O GI parasites
Prognosis: Good
Plan: Dewormed yesterday. If diarrhea continues, give additional dewormers.
