SAFE 12/9/17 — Sweet SCALES was brought in by someone who said she is frequently in the basement of his building. Scales was in the process of giving birth when the finder brought her to the shelter after finding 2 deceased kittens in his basement. She had 2 more stillborn at the shelter. SCALES has been spayed now and needs a furever home. She is docile and sweet and about 3 yrs old.

Observed Behavior -docile, sweet, allowed all handling for exam but was growling during tech check; actively giving birth to stillborn

Objective
BCS 5.5/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam:mm pk, moist; CRT <2 sec; adult dentitia present with minimal tartar/staining
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: one fetus palpable in caudal abdomen; slightly uncomfortable on palpation
U/G: pregnant; passed one still born on presentation and 2 additional stillborn kittens within the hour
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: grossly normal
lateral radiograph showed one kitten in pelvic canal and one kitten in uterus
Assessment
Previously pregnant, passed all kittens, all stillborn
Prognosis: good
Plan:
Gave 0.44 ml simbadol SQ once
Rec’d spay
