SAFE 6/22/17 **FELV POSITIVE** LION is a handsome ginger boy who is about 6 yrs old. His finder had been feeding him for awhile and then took him to the ASPCA but they wouldn’t take because he tested positive for FELV. LION has a cold, is a bit underweight and dehydrated. Friendly cat needs a new home asap!

Medical Summary DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: approx 5-7 years Microchip noted on Intake? neg History : finder has been feeding him for awhile; took him to the ASPCA where he was positive for felv Subjective: BAR, mild-mod dehydration Observed Behavior – initially allowed handling and petting; began growling and struggling with more restraint Evidence of Cruelty seen – none Evidence of Trauma seen – none Objective BCS 3.5/9 EENT: eyes clear nasal wheezing with mild mucoserous discharge AU-mild waxy debris around external canal Oral Exam: mm pk, tacky; CRT <2 sec; mod tartar/staining and mild gingivitis PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: no murmurs or arrhythmias appreciated; lungs clear ABD: soft, nonpainful and doughy; no palpable abnormalities U/G: male intact; 2 scrotal testicles present MSI: ambulatory x 4 with no obvious lameness; hair coat is dull and dirty; small abrasion on bridge of nose CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment Felv URI-r/o acute vs chronic underweight dehydrated Plan CBC/chem move to iso doxycycline 0.8 ml PO SID x 10 days LRS 100 ml SQ SID x 3 days Prognosis: fair SURGERY: permanent waiver d/t felv
