He may be carrying a few extra pounds, but that will make him all the more cuddly when he snuggles up with you in his new home
**RETURN** Ametheyst is a handsome 4 yr old boy who is a chunky 17.5 lbs!! He is already neutered. His owner decided he had “no time” for his cat.

Amethyst is a 4 year old altered male black and white DSH mix; he was adopted two years ago and was surrender due to the owner not having any time. He has no known health issues or injures and has no vet history.
Around strangers Amethyst is shy for a few minutes and is outgoing and playful. Amethyst has never been around children or animals he does play bite but has never drawn blood.
At Night time Amethyst likes sit in front of the door and cry for a few hours. During car ride he does cry and meow. Amethyst will struggle during a bath, but will later lie down in the tub. He does struggle when someone tries to brush him and runs away. Amethyst likes being picked up and held, and isn’t bothered when he is put in the carrier.
He was described as friendly, talkative, and playful with a high activity level. He loves to play with paper ball and is kept indoors only. He is feed dry food of the science diet brand twice a day. He is litter box trained and uses an uncovered box with clumping litter. Amethyst also has a horizontal scratching post made of cardboard.
Upon intake Amethyst was friendly and very activity, he allowed the counselor to collar him and take a photo.

Reaction to assessor: Ametheyst was relaxed and sitting by the front of the kennel with his paws folded under his body.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Ametheyst chirps then gets up and brushes his entire body up against the cage door.
Reaction to cage door opening: Ametheyst is calm and waits eagerly by the door to interact.
Reaction to touch: Ametheyst Is curious and leans out the kennel to explore his surroundings. He leans in when pet, is constantly solicits attention and enjoys being pet all over.
Reaction to being picked up: Ametheyst was a little tense when picked up due to his size, but he remained calm and allowed all handling.
