10/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lai was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Lai is curious and comes forward when the assessor approaches. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lai sniffs the assessor’s hand with her tail lowered then looks out at her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Lai becomes alert. Reaction to touch: Lai’s eyes widen the she sniffs the assessor’s hand and gently brushes up for rubs. Her movements are slow, she tends to focus on her environment and her tail starts to sway back and forth the more you interact with her. She seems unsure and tends to lean away and grumble when she’s had enough. Reaction to being picked up: Lai was a bit tense when held, but allows handling then grumbles when she wants to be put down. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Lai tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
