Medical Summary DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 4 Microchip noted on Intake? neg History : stray Subjective: QAR. Covered in fleas. Lactating – with litter of 4 kittens. Observed Behavior – unsure when opening cage. Swatted at wand for microchip. But allowed handling us to take her out in towel and was compliant with exam – no hissing or growling. Evidence of Cruelty seen – n Evidence of Trauma seen – n Objective T = P = 180 R = eup BCS= 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear. Ears – black discharge AU, pinnae thickened and cauliflowered. No nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Misisng several incisors, mod gingival recession, mild- mod tartar. MMpk. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, possible cranial abd mass. U/G: Female. Lactating. No overt vulvar discharge but haircaot is wet. MSI: Ambulatory x 4. MArked flea infestation. Dirty haircoat. SQ mass caudal ventral abd – possibly distension from mammary glands. CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: n Lat xray taken – ingesta in intestines. Central abd – irregular mass effect – r/o uterus w re-absorbed fetus FIV +, FeLV neg. Assessment: 4 yo F queen with litter of 4. FIV positive. Marked fleas. Suspect abd mass – r/o retained fetus. SQ ventral mass – r/o excess mammary swelling Plan Routine intake. Capstar and Frontline. Prognosis: Fair to good. SURGERY: Okay for surgery Temporary waiver due to lactating but surgery may be medically necessary if vulvar d/c and suspect retained fetus.
