***SAFE 10/17/16***HANDSOME GREY AND WHITE GENTLEMAN IS PURRFECTLY HEALTHY AND SCANNED POSITIVE FOR A MICROCHIP—NEEDS RESCUE ANGEL! Korea is yet another cat minding his own biz, chilling in a backyard when a regular trapper decided to trap Korea and dump him at the kill happy shelter. Korea is neutered and scanned positive for a microchip. He is definitely someone’s lost pet. We are not sure if anything was done to contact his owner. Korea is purrfectly healthy but because he has shown fear at the shelter, he has earned a spot on tonight’s at risk list. Korea tolerates petting and it’s noted he is not at all aggressive. None of this seems to matter at the ACC where they can’t seem to wait to euthanize a bunch of kitties to make way for the next round of poor souls. Please help stop the madness by offering to foster or adopt Korea. He obviously has been a house pet and just needs some time to decompress from his shelter experience and get used to people again. Transportation is available. Email our help desk and we will help you don your superhero cape and spring into action–[email protected] Make the call for Korea NOW!!!

10/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Korea was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Korea was curled up in the back of the kennel with his tail curled up at his side. Reaction when softly spoken to: Korea has wide eyes focused on all movements then slowly lowers his head. Reaction to cage door opening: Korea remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Korea lip licks and leans his head away as you approach him. His body is tense and he allows petting with a slow approach. After a few soft passes he curls his body up tighter and turns his head away trying to avoid eye contact. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Korea tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
