***SAFE 06/17/17***Senior Tabby Siblings Mimi and Kiki are ready for a new retirement home. 18 year old KIKI and his 18 year old housemate MIMI were dumped by their owner for having “too many pets”….KIKI has severe dental disease, has few teeth so his tongue protrudes, and needs an echocardiagram for a possible heart murmur. These cats need a home to live out their time so they don’t die in the shelter. Please help!

06/14/17 16:46 Basic Info: Kiki A1115342 is an 18yr old male brown tabby & white DSH feline who was born at home & is being surrendered along with his sister Mimi A1115341 due to too many pets. Kiki’s last veterinarian visit was about 12yrs ago and currently has no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Kiki is friendly/outgoing. He hasn’t been around dogs or children and was gentle, relaxed, playful & affectionate with the adults and Mimi in the home. Kiki hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Kiki isn’t bothered by the following: being picked up/held or with being placed into a carrier. He hasn’t been given a bath, had his nails trimmed, been brushed nor has he been disturbed while sleeping/resting. For a New Family to Know: Kiki is described as friendly & affectionate with a low-medium activity level. When the owner is home Kiki follows them around. Kiki is an indoor only cat that sleeps around the home, eats dry & canned Friskies 1-3x a day & is uncovered litter box trained with clumping litter within. Intake Behavior: Kiki had a soft body, eyes and allowed all handling. He allowed to be scanned (-), collared & have his picture taken. Kiki didn’t seem to mind being picked up/held at all and was placed into a kennel with ease.

Other notes: When the owner is home Kiki follows them around. Kiki isn’t bothered by the following: being picked up/held or with being placed into a carrier. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Objective Behavior – Calm EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Kiki was lying down the back and had a low body posture. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kiki looks at the assessor and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Kiki remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Kiki accepts petting, but lowers his head. His ears tilt slightly sideways, but he tolerates gentle petting on his head and body. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent – Kiki tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
