***SAFE 10/14/16 *** KENZIE IS A TWO YEAR OLD LADY WHO NEEDS A NEW HOME….Her owner decided to move someplace where they don’t accept pets and left KENZIE at the ACC. KENZIE was having a bit of a hard time at first but she worked her way right into an AVERAGE rating…..Just imagine how great she’ll be when she feels safe and secure in a new home!! KENZIE is not yet spayed. She had 3 kittens that did not come to the ACC with her. HELP FIND THIS TWO YEAR OLD TERRIFIC TABBY A HOME TONIGHT!! It could be TEMPURRARY or it could be PURRMANENT, either way it will save her life!!

09/21/2016 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 1 – NORMAL , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 7.0 LBS.
9/21/16 Pt reported to be sneezing and having ocular discharge. On this exam, there was no ocular or nasal discharge, no coughing or sneezing. Additionally, pt has only been in the shelter for 6 days which would be very short for incubation of feline URI. Okay to monitor and recheck in a few days. 1088 9/15/16 Sex: Female Scan: Negative Estimated age: 1-2 years based on overall size Fleas: Moderate amount of flea dirt. S: Initially head-butted me as I pet her head and looked at her teeth, but then became very aggressive – hissed and ran at my hand as I withdrew it from the cage. On all further attempts to put a hand or anything else in the cage, pt ran at and attacked the object. Exam was finished with pt in Freeman net. O: BAR-H, BCS 5/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Clean teeth. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Unable to palpate M/S/I: Amb x4. No skin lesions noted. UG: Female A: Apparently healthy young adult female cat Short-term prognosis: Excellent P: Administered Activyl cat 2-9 lbs and pyrantel 0.7 ml in food during exam 1088

9/15/16 17:05 Basic information: Kenzie is a 2 year old female domestic short hair mix. The owner surrendered Kenzie because he is moving to a place that does not expect pets. Kenzie has no health problems and the owner has not taken her to a vet. Socialization: The owner states that around strangers Kenzie is friendly and outgoing. Kenzie has not lived with children, but around adults she is gentle and loves to play. Kenzie has lived with her three kittens and can plays really well with them. She has never been around dogs so the owner has no idea how Kenzie would react around them. Kenzie has never bitten or scratched anyone. Behavior: Kenzie has never been bathed, had his nails trimmed. She does not mind having his coat brushed, being picked up and allows being placed in a cat carrier. For a new family to know: The owner describes Kenzie as friendly and playful cat with a medium activity level. Kenzie has never played with toys; she lives mostly indoors and sleeps anywhere in the house that he wants. In the home Kenzie will follow the owner around and prefers to stay in same room as the owner. Kenzie eats various brands of dry cat food and is feed two times a day. She is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Kenzie has never been given a scratching post so the owner does not know if he will use it or not. Behavior during intake: During intake Kenzie was somewhat tense with stiff body, she allowed us to scan (-) put on collar, photographed and placed in cat kennel. However after a few minutes she began to hiss and swat at the handler.

Reaction when softly spoken to: Kenzie stays at the front – continues to solicit attention and rub against the cage front. Reaction to cage door opening: Kenzie remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Kenzie solicits petting and attention – rubbing against the assessor’s hands and purring. Reaction to being picked up: Kenzie sits calmly in the assessor’s arms. Behavior Determination: Average Kenzie interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
