I am a spayed female tortie domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/14/2016 from NY 10304, owner surrender reason stated was NO TIME.

Patient has been sneezing. No vomiting, diarrhea, PU/PD and PP Euhydrated, BCS 5/9 EENT- No discharge seen Cv- NAF Skin- NAF Ms- NAF Lymph- NAF Neuro- NAF UG- NAF Plan Isolation 1 ml ( 50 mg doxycycline) SID for 10 days

11/14/16 16:17 Basic Information: Karen is a 4 year old spayed female DSH that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Karen for the last 2 years but had to surrender due to personal problems. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers Karen is shy for a few minutes at first but once she is warmed up, she plays gently. She has not been around children or dogs therefore behavior is unknown. Owner had another cat in the home a few months ago & stated that Karen would hiss and swat at the other cat. Karen has never bit another person or animal while in the care of the owner. Behavior: In the car, Karen is usually nervous at first and meows but then relaxes. She enjoys having her coat brushed and will purr. Karen is not bothered by being picked up and held or if someone disturbs her while she is sleeping. Owner stated that Karen would struggle to get away whenever he would try to trim her nails, or put her into a carrier.Owner has never tried to bathe her therefore behavior is unknown. For a New Family to Know: Karen is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, shy around new people and a mix of vocal and quiet with a medium activity level. In the home, she liked to follow the owner around or depending on her mood stay in her favorite spot. She enjoys playing with balls, string toys, catnip toys, laser pointers and fishing rods. Karen was kept indoors only & is litter box trained. In the home, she used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Owner had a scratching post made of carpet in the home that she would use frequently. As per owner, Karen does not tolerate dry food and will vomit when given some but tolerates wet food well. Owner would give her Weruva brand. Behavior during intake: Karen was nervous and trying to hide in the carrier. I was unable to lure her out of the carrier but was able to scan for a mc, collar and take her picture. Her body remained stiff but when I tried petting her chin, she leaned into my hand.

11/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Karen came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who described her as mellow and affectionate and notes that she did not socialize well with the other cat in the home. Reaction to assessor: Karen is sitting in her cubby, soft and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Karen looks at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Karen approaches the front of the cage, rubbing against the cage wall. Reaction to touch: Karen leans into petting, appreciates petting all over body. Reaction to pick up: Karen is calm during this type of handling. Placement Determination: Average Karen does not approach the assessor at first, but appreciates petting and allows all handling. Karen is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents. We also advise that any cat-to-cat introductions be done slowly.
