GREY CLOUD – A1091453
Gone - 9-30-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 09/30/16***BACK TO THE DUMPER’S THAT MAKE THE ACC WHAT IT IS….AN OVERCROWDED, SHELTER THAT KILLS JUST FOR “SPACE!” Because GREY CLOUD IS basically healthy and no real reason for her(or any cat’s for that matter!)to be listed tonight! She has been DUMPED by an owner who didn’t care enough to find a pet- friendly dwelling, but sure didn’t mind leaving her off at the first HIGH KILL SHELTER along the way! GREY CLOUD may take a little time to warm up to you, but that’s to be expected of any shelter cat. She’s lived with kids her whole life, and has been with the previous owner since she was 4 months old. But never been around any other animals. She’s RESCUE ONLY so you will need to contact a New Hope rescue and offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT her! She’s ALREADY SPAYED and ready to go if you’ll just have her, with arms wide open, and a heart to match!

09/27/16 14:35 Basic Info Grey Cloud is an 8 year old cat who has been with her previous owner since she was 4 months old. She was surrendered because previous owner was moving somewhere that does not allow pets. Socialization Grey Cloud was reported to be shy around strangers for a few days before she allows petting. She lived with children that are currently aged 12 and 14 her whole life. She usually attempted to avoid them, especially when they were younger and ran around a lot. Grey Cloud loves to play fetch. She has never lived with other animals. Behavior Grey Cloud has been trained to scratch a specific piece of furniture in her previous owner’s house. She is house trained and has only ever had accidents when her owner attempted to switch her from clumping litter to crystal litter. When she was switched back to clumping, she used the litterbox fine. She loves to be brushed and held, but might struggle when being put in a carrier. For a New Family to know Grey Cloud was reported to have a high activity level. She loved to follow her previous owner around the house. She sleeps in a cat bed and is used to wet food, a hooded box, and clumping litter. Behavior During Intake Grey Cloud was hissing, growling, and swatting in her carrier. She was transferred into a feral den without contact with counselor.

Reaction to assessor: The cat looks tense, hiding in the cat den when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: The cat remains crouched down in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: The cat does not allow the stroke then hisses and swats at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Grey Cloud is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting.
