02/12/16 15:00hrs Gogo is described as affectionate, friendly and calm. He lived with an adult but interacted with children aged, 3, 6 and 7 years old. Gogo was friendly with the children allowing them to pet him. He also lived with a younger cat Leo. Gogo would play with Leo but only when Leo initates play. Gogo’s owner describes him as the submissive cat in the home. BEHAVIOR Gogo is accustomed to being bathed 1x or 2x a month. He will attempt to get away while being bathed but eventually sits still and allows his owner to bathe him. He enjoys being brushed and petted. He allows his owner to hold him as welll. Gogo follows his owner around the home when the owner is present or finds somewhere to rest when he is alone. Gogo will hide when there are visitors enter the home. He will come out of hiding once he is comfortable. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Gogo shares a uncovered litterbox with Leo. His owner stated that he always uses his litterbox. He enjoys using a cardboard scrathing post and the tubes left over from the hand towels. He eats dry cat food only. He sleeps in the bed with his owner or under the bed. DURING INTAKE Gogo hid in the rear of his carrier while displaying a tense body. He would sniff at the Admissions Counselor’s hand when offered. He attempted to flee and hide when allowed out of his carrier. He was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photographed.

A volunteer writes: When you look in Gogo cage you are met by a handsome boy with a grey tuxedo and white socks. He gives you the once over and then comes for you to pet him. He loves his head rubbed a lot. This handsome, well dressed, and loving cat is looking for his forever human. Won’t you come to the Manhattan center and be his human?!

Gogo’s previous owner stated he has lived with only one adult, but has interacted with children ages 3-7 years old. He was friendly with the children and allowed them to pet him. He also lived with a younger male cat and would only play with him when the other cat initiates play. He was described as affectionate, friendly, and calm. He enjoys being brushed and petted, allowing the owner to hold him as well. He follows the owner around the home, but may hide when there are visitors. He will come out of hiding once he is comfortable. Reaction to assessor: Gogo was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Gogo looks at the assessor and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Gogo remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Gogo was a bit hesitant, but he gets up and sniffs the assessor. He head-butts and arches his back into petting. His tail quivers and he seems to really appreciate attention. Reaction to being picked up: Gogo is a bit tense, but he remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Average Gogo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
