BEHAVIOR:
Ameer was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She attempted to hide in the back of her carrier upon intake and would shift her head away when touched. She looked around the room, but accepted food when offered. She allowed all handling during her initial medical exam.
Reaction to assessor: Ameer was calm and relaxed upon approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Ameer blinks softly and lays her head down on her bedding.
Reaction to cage door opening: Ameer remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Ameer head-butts, arches her back into petting, begins to purr, and rolls over. She is very sweet during the interaction and seems to really appreciate attention.
Reaction to being picked up: Ameer remains soft and allows handling.
Behavior Determination: Beginner
Ameer interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
