GISELE – A1077022
Gone - 6-23-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 06/23/16** PREGNANT MOMMA CAT GISELE NEEDS A RESCUE ANGEL OR SHE AND HER UNBORN KITTENS WILL DIE AT NOON!! GISELE came into the shelter by someone who said she “bites people” yet she is listed as a stray. Seems a bit contradicting – most strays don’t jump out and bite people. Most likely someone brought this cat in for a friend who was too yellow bellied to fess up to dumping his cat who just so happened to be PREGNANT!! Two year old GISELE allowed all handling on intake and the shelter noted her large abdomen which tells us she is in a late term of her pregnancy. GISELE allowed gentle petting on her head but spent most of her time hiding in her cubby. Sadly the ACC has decided that rather than spay abort the kittens late term, why not just kill them all instead including momma. They claim they couldn’t handle this cat but come noon on Thursday they will have no problem handling her to stick a lethan injection into her body to kill her and her babies!! GISELE is just a timid girl and a patient and kind heart will certainly go a long way if she is fostered. PLEASE SAVE GISELE AND GIVE HER A CHANCE TO LIVE AND FIND A FUREVER HOME. OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT. EMAIL [email protected] FOR RESCUE INFO.

06/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gisele was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She allowed handling upon intake and during her initial medical exam, but appeared quiet, cautious, and timid. The enrichment facilitator reports she would hide in a den, peeking out occasionally. She continued to display fearful behavior throughout her stay, and would lift her paw to strike when petting was attempted. Reaction to assessor: Gisele was inside a hidey den, facing away from the opening. Reaction when softly spoken to: Gisele does not respond, but starts to breathe heavily. Reaction to cage door opening: Gisele spins around to look out the opening. She lip licks and blinks. Reaction to touch: Gisele sniffs the assessor’s hand and allows gentle petting on her head for a moment, but shifts back inside of the den. She would peek her head outside of the cage and allow brief stroke again, but her ears tilt and her tail twitches. She retreats back into her den again when she becomes overwhelmed. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Gisele tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
