MOON – A1076986
Gone - 6-14-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 06/14/16*** MOON is a beautiful striped brown female tabby. She had a home for 3 years ever since she was a kitten. She was given to the owner as a gift. Suddenly after 3 years the owner decided she couldn’t keep her because of personal problems. So now MOON is on tomorrow’s euthanasia list at the shelter. This sweet girl deserves a long pampered life and she’s desperately hoping her kitty angel will come rescue her! MOON has been around children and other cats with no issues. She was respectful and playful. This sweet striped cutie is timid at the shelter and would do well in an experienced pet home with no children, where she could warm up to her new owner. This gorgeous tabby cat would make a wonderful pet! Please foster or adopt MOON today!!

Moon has been around other cats she is tolerant and gentle when interacting. Moon has no experience with dogs. Moon is described as playful with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Moon stayed a the back of the cage and watched the assessor nervously When spoken quietly: Moon continues to watch the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Moon hisses at the assessor with her ears flat Reaction to touch: Moon allows petting with a slow approach. She takes a while to warm up before seeking attention. Try picking cat up: Moon moves around to avoid being picked up. Once the cage was closed after Moon’s eval she made growling sounds and bit the blanket in her cage. This could be due to the previous interaction had with Moon. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Moon was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying timid behavior. Moon did not seek attention from the assessor and hissed when the kennel was open. Remained motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
