04/22/17 19:37 Basic Information: Fifi is a domestic short hair cat who was brought into ACC due ot her previous owners passing away. Fifi is shy toward adults and children and takes some time to get used to them. Fifi has lived with children ages 6 and oldre and will usually be shy around them. Fifi has lived with her housemate Brownie and is relaxed and affectionate towards her. Fifi was fed dry food and is litter box trained. Intake Behavior: Fifi attempted to flee during intake and avoided being touched by staff. Fifi was not able to be collared or have picture taken on backdrop.

KNOWN HISTORY: Previously lived with: Adults and children Behavior toward strangers: Takes some time to get used to them Behavior toward children: Shy Behavior toward cats: Lived with another cat and was relaxed and affectionate towards her Litter box training: Yes MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very affectionate, rubs up against hands, meows softly for attention. Allows all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 04/23/17 Lying crouched in back of kennel. Makes eye contact when spoken to and tolerates petting along head and body with wide eyes. Relaxes body slightly and closes eyes with continued petting. Needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway. 04/24/17 Lying in back of kennel with a low body and wide eyes. Tolerates petting along head and body at first, warming up after a few minutes. She then stands up and begins to lean into petting with her tail raised, coming forward to the front of the kennel when called and nuzzling and head-butting her kennel-mate. Good potential to warm up – did great today! EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Fifi was crouched in the back of the kennel with her tail wrapped around her body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fifi turns to make eye contact, lip licks and didn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Fifi remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Fifi was a little hesitant at first but eventually leans forward to sniff the assessor. Her body perks up and her tail rises when pet along her back. She slowly builds confidence and after a couple soft pets she approaches the front while soliciting attention. Reaction to being picked up: Fifi was a bit tense when picked up but allows all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Fifi interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
