Medical Behavior Evaluation BLUE
Medical Summary 04/24/17 Exam. History – Brought in by relatives of owner. Age and spay status unclear. Vaginal discharge noted yesterday when brought in, started on Clavamox. Housed with companion cat (A1109702). Microchip scan negative on intake. Age est 6 yrs. Observed behavior – Social, friendly, seems to enjoy attention. Allows all handling. Evidence of cruelty ot trauma – No. O: BARH. mm=lt pink, moist, CRT<2 s. HR=200, RR=24. BCS=4/9. Watery diarrhea in cage. ORAL: Mild to mod calculus, gingivitis. EENT: No oculonasal discharge, no sneezing. H/L: Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias. ABD/UG: Soft, non-painful. No palpable organomegaly, masses, or fluid. Female, no vulvar discharge. No diarrhea on perineum or tail. Unable to observe spay scar – abdomen needs to be shaved. MS: Amb x 4, no lameness. INTEG: Full, clean haircoat, no skin lesions. NEURO: No neuro deficits. PLN: No enlargements noted. A: Approx 6 yr old female cat with dental disease. No signs of pyometra, it is not clear if cat is spayed. If diarrhea in cage is from this cat – r/o due to antibiotics, stress, diet change, parsitism, GI infection, other. P: Shave to check for OVH scar. If none found, OK to schedule for surgery. Stop antibiotics as there is no indication for them and may be causing GI upset. Excellent prognosis.

Basic Information:
Brownie/Cafe adults and children and takes some time to get used to them. Fifi has lived with children ages 6 and older and will usually be shy around them. Brownie has lived with her housemate Fifi and is relaxed and affectionate towards her. Brownie was fed dry food and is litter box trained.
Intake Behavior:
Brownie/Cafe attempted to flee during intake and avoided being touched by staff. Brownie was not able to be collared or have picture taken on backdrop.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:
04/24/17
Lying in back of kennel with a low body and wide eyes. Tolerates petting along head and body at first, warming up after a few minutes. She then stands up and begins to lean into petting with her tail raised, coming forward to the front of the kennel when called and nuzzling and head-butting her kennel-mate. Good potential to warm up – did great today!
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: No change
Reaction to assessor: Cafe comes forward slowly to investigate.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Café rubs her cheeks against the kennel door but gets easily startled when she hears a loud noise or when someone walks by.
Reaction to cage door opening: Café is alert
Reaction to touch: Café comes forward to sniff the assessor then gently leans in for petting and attention. She’s social, friendly allows petting all over her body.
Reaction to being picked up: Café is calm, relaxed and has a soft body when held.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet, Affectionate
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average
Cafe interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

Recheck exam for vaginal discharge.
S/O: BARH. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. Active, social, eating well. No vomiting or diarrhea in cage or reported.
EENT: No oculonasal discharge, no sneezing.
ABD/UG: Soft, non-painful. No palpable masses/organomegaly. No vulvar discharge.
MS: Amb x 4, no lameness.
INTEG: Full, clean haircoat. Normal skin turgor.
A: No evidence of vaginal discharge. Apparently healthy exccept for previously identified dental disease.
P: OK to continue Clavamox as planned. If diarrhea recurs rec. stop.
OK for OVH.
Excellent prognosis.
