***SAFE 05/23/16***PURRFECTLY HEALTHY PAIR OF OLDER KITTENS WILL DIE DUE TO FEAR–UNLESS YOU CAN BE THEIR HERO! Bella and Erykah are adorable ten month old sad and scared kittens who were dumped together at the shelter and slated to die tomorrow afternoon due to their fear. Most likely, they were minding their own biz when someone thought they were doing them a favor by scooping them up (or trapping them) and dropping them off at the ACC. Two scared kitties in the midst of kitten season=DISASTER! This poor healthy duo will become another sad pair of ACC stats when tomorrow afternoon rolls around UNLESS their rescue angel comes forward. They need a kind, patient purrson willing to give them a chance to warm up and learn to trust people–a chance to decompress from life at the shelter. They need a chance to live a happy life. They need a chance to live. If you can BE THE SOMEBODY to give Bella and Erykah that CHANCE, please contact a New Hope rescue. Email our help desk and we can help you be Bell and Erykah’s hero–[email protected]. They only have tonight. We are their only hope. Let’s make it happen!!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Erykah was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Erykah’s eyes widen and focuses intensely at the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Erykah lowers his head into the litter box attempting to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Erykah remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Erykah’s ears bend flat, hisses then attempts to flee the kennel. He currently doesn’t allow any handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Erykah is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling.
