10/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Enchantres was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Enchantres was crouched at the front of the kennel looking out at her surroundings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Enchantres retreats to the back, curls up in the litter box and meows softly at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Enchantress becomes alert and stress meows. Reaction to touch: Enchantres is wary of her surroundings and actively tries to avoid contact. She allows petting with a slow approach, becomes immobile when touched along her body then becomes uncomfortable and shifts away. Her body is tense, she keeps her tail lowered and continues to stress meow. Reaction to being picked up: Enchantres was tense when picked up, lip licks & allows all handling. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Enchantress tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
