**SAFE 07/28/16** EMERY NEEDS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER OR WILL NOT MAKE IT PAST TOMORROW! DON’T LIKE TO READ IT? – THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! EMERY is a 2 year old guy who, when found in the street, was friendly towards his finder. However, during his medical exam he was nervous and tense! REALLY? WHO ISN’T? So the EXPERIENCE rating he received is at your discretion. It’s who you want to believe. The doctor…poking and prodding him. Or the Finder… likely kind and gentle! PLEASE, offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT EMERY, and YOU be the judge, of just how friendly this guy really is!

07/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Emery came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was friendly with the finder and tolerant during intake, though he was tense and nervous during his initial medical examination. Emery seems to be warming up to his new caretakers, showing a little progress each day, though he remains a bit cautious. He seems to be treat motivated. Reaction to assessor: Emery is at the back of the cage when the assessor approaches. He looks up, body neutral. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains in place, neutral. Reaction to touch: Emery sniffs the assessor’s outstretched hand, allows gentle pets on the hed and then begins rubbing his forehead and cheeks on the assessor’s hand. He approaches the front of the cage, then returns to the back to eat. Placement determination: Experience Emery tolerates attention and petting but may be a bit stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
