07/03/16 13:33 Basic Information Mellie was brought in as a stray by police, after being found in an abandoned apartment. Behavior during Intake Mellie was afraid during intake. She had flattened ears and her tail tucked. Mellie shared a carrier with (A1079815) but allowed counselor to easily remove her and place her in a different one. Mellie accepted food and allowed all handling. Mellie showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Mellie Grant was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was fearful upon intake and her tail was tucked underneath her body and had flattened ears, however she allowed all handling and was easily removed from the carrier. Reaction to assessor: Mellie Grant was resting in her cage upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mellie Grant meows and was calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction to cage door opening: Mellie Grant remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Mellie Grant head-butts, begins to purr, and kneads on her blanket. She is very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Mellie Grant remains calm and purrs when held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Mellie Grant interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
