10/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Deux was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in a previous home. Reaction to assessor: Deux remained motionless but alert, lying on her blanket at the very back of the cage, eyes wide. Reaction when softly spoken to: Deux remained motionless and avoided eye contact. Reaction to cage door opening: Deux began shifting weight back and forth, rocking, and lip licked. Reaction to touch: Deux attempted to flee, settled in litter box, and avoided all attempts to touch. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Deux is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time
