SAFE 3/24/17 Chiki is just the kitty for cuddling up on a cozy Sunday night, as well as spending time playing with some choice kitty toys! This affection girl loves to be around people and has been known to follow her owners around the house. Not only is she loving, but she has the most beautiful face! This purring kitty can go to a beginner home.

Behavior::
Chiki’s previous owner reports she is friendly and social towards strangers, allowing them to pick her up, pet her, and carry her. She has lived with children and got along well with them, tolerating child play. She allows the owner to pick her up with ease and loves affection. She was best described as a friendly, affectionate, and loving cat.
Reaction to assessor: Chiki was resting, but had her eyes slightly opened, soft and relaxed.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Chiki chirps and approaches the front, sniffing around.
Reaction to cage door opening: Chiki remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Chiki nudges the assessor with her nose and her tail begins to quiver. She leans in for petting, rubs her cheeks against the assessor, and begins to purr. She is very affectionate throughout the interaction.
Reaction to pick up: Chiki remains calm and continues to purr when held.
Behavior Determination: Beginner
Chiki interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.

BASIC INFORMATION: Chiki is domestic shorthair four year old spayed cat. Chiki was found as a stray and has no known health issues and has been surrendered to ACC due to owner developing allergies/asthma.
SOCIALIZATION: Chiki is friendly and social towards strangers, she allows strangers to pick her up and pet her. Chiki also allows strangers to pet her and carry her. Chiki has resided with small children and gets along well. Chiki is tolerant of child play. Chiki has not resided with other cats, small animals or dogs. Chiki has not bitten or scratched another animal or person within the past 10 days.
BEHAVIOR: Chiki is tolerant of being placed inside of a carrier. She allows owner to pick her up with ease and loves affection. Chiki’s owner has bathed and groomed her, Chiki may give a struggle when bathed or groomed. Chiki will occasionally scratch on furniture made of fabric, wood and carpets. Chiki may need a scratching post in the home.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Chiki is best described as a friendly, affectionate and loving cat. Chiki enjoys sun bathing and playing with cat toys such as balls and strings. Chiki enjoys sleeping on soft areas such as pillows. Chiki will follow the owner around when the owner comes home. She enjoys eating dry food from Meow mix. Chiki uses a hooded litter box with clay litter. Chiki is very affectionate and is constantly seeking owner to pet her. Chiki would do best in a family home.
BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Chiki was friendly towards counselor. Chiki allowed all handling and scanned negative.
