**Beautiful BROOKE was found as a stray with wounds all over her body – she has flea bites which could be cause of self-inflicted wounds. She is friendly and calm and would love a new home.

Scanned pos on intake History : Stray, found outside with wounds on sides Subjective: Calm, alert, relaxed Observed Behavior – Allows all handling and shaving without resistance Evidence of Trauma seen – Wounds on left and right flanks Objective BAR-H, BCS 6/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: Mild black granular discharge AU. Mild crusts at medial canthus OU. No nasal discharge noted. Oral Exam: Mild gingivitis PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female, no spay scar palpated MSI: Wounds on left and right flanks. Left flank – 4×8 cm superficial to partial-thickness wound of irregular T-shape, with erythema and moist discharge. Right flank – 4×4 cm superficial wound of oval shape, with erythema and moist discharge. Many scabs in fur on dorsum. Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted. CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Shaved flanks and cleaned wounds with chlorhexidine – many scabs noted that are consistent with flea bites. Assessment: 1. Flea allergy dermatitis 2. Ear mites likely Plan: 1. Benadryl 12.5 mg PO BID x10 days 2. Treated with flea prevention today – continue this monthly indefinitely!! 3. Onsior 6 mg PO SID x5 days 4. Clavamox 1 ml PO BID x7 days Prognosis: Good SURGERY: Okay for surgery 1088
