Owner Profile::
Basic Information:
Bella is a 3 year old female that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Bella for over month but had to surrender due to allergies in the home.
Socialization:
According to the owner, around strangers, Bella is shy at first for a few days but once comfortable, she plays gently. She has been around children ages 5 and 7 on a daily basis and would usually hide from the children or keep to herself. When the children would approach and try to pet her, she was tolerant. Owner had another female cat in the home and stated that Bella would hiss, growl and swat at the other cat. She has never been around dogs so behavior is unknown. Bella does not have a bite history.
Behavior:
Bella is not bothered by having her nails trimmed, having her coat brushed, being put into a carrier or being disturbed while sleeping. Owner has never tried to bathe her and stated that she will struggle to run away when someone picks her up.
For a New Family to Know:
Bella is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, independent and talkative. She has a low activity level and prefers to lounge rather than play with any toys. In the home, Bella would usually stay in her own favorite spot when owners children are around but when they were not in the home, Bella would follow the owner around and sit on the owners lap. She was kept indoors only and is mostly house trained. Owner stated that over the last few weeks, Bella had several accidents where she urinated outside of the litter box and the owner believes it was the stress from the other cat in the home. Owner had a hooded litter box with clumping litter in the home. Bella did not use the cardboard scratching post that the owner had at home and stated that she did not scratch on any furniture. In the home, she was fed both wet and dry food brand Friskies.
Behavior during intake: Bella had a stiff body and was trying to hide during intake. Counselor was able to scan for a mc, collar and take a picture without any issues.
