Observed Behavior – friendly, allows exam/treatments with minimal restraint.

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: negative oral exam
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, cranial abdominal mass effect.
U/G: male castrated
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, unkempt hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment:
Possible abdominal mass: rule out GI/ingesta vs neoplasia vs organomegaly vs other
Prognosis:
good, pending xrays
Plan:
abdominal and thoracic radiographs.
continue to monitor at ACC

Basic Information:
Bam is a 5 year old Orange DLH neutered cat who was surrendered by his owner due to the fact she is moving out of stated and could no longer have pets in the home.

How is this cat around strangers?
Owner stated that when around strangers Bam is shy for a few minutes but will warm up to them. When playing with adults he is gentle.
How is this cat around children?
Bam has not spent time in the home around strangers so it is unknown how he will react.
How is this cat around other cats?
Bam has spent time around another cat in the home. When around her he was relaxed and affectionate. When playing with other cats he is gentle.
How is this cat around dogs?
Bam has not spent time around dogs in the home so it is unknown how he will react.
Behavior Notes
Owner stated that overall Bam behaves well. On the way to the ACC in the car he was quiet. When being bathed or having his nails trimmed Bam will struggle to get away. He enjoys being brushed. Bam will also struggle to get away when being held or put in a carrier. Bam isn’t bothered if he is disturbed while he sleeps.

Bam has never bitten a person or another animal.

For a New Family to Know
Owner described Bam as independent, affectionate and mellow. When at home he likes to be in the same room as his owner. Bam likes to play with string and wand toys. He has been kept indoors only and eats dry food. Bam is very much litter box trained and never has accidents. He is used to an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Bam scratches on a post made out of carpet and rough rope.

During intake Bam was curious and allowed the counselor to pick him up collar him and take his picture with no problems
