Subjective: Alert, sitting in carrier
Observed Behavior – Reluctant to get out of carrier. Once on exam table, sits in one place and allows all handling.
Evidence of Cruelty seen – None
Evidence of Trauma seen – None
Objective
QAR, estimated 5% dehydrated based on decreased skin turgor, BCS 2/9
EENT: OD moderate mucoid discharge, moderate conjunctival erythema, clear cornea. OS moderate mucoid discharge, moderate conjunctival erythema, moderate periocular swelling, clear cornea. Mild serous nasal discharge. Ears clean.
Oral Exam: Adult dentition, clean teeth.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, Congested upper airways. No sneezing or coughing.
ABD: Soft, tucked up, non painful, no masses palpated.
U/G: Female
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Normal externally
FIV/FeLV test: POSITIVE for FeLV
Assessment:
1. Emaciated
2. URI – moderate, suspect viral with bacterial component, ocular and nasal signs
3. FeLV
Prognosis: Good with treatment
Plan:
1. Move to isolation
2. Doxycycline 0.3 ml SQ SID x10 days
3. Gentamycin, clean eyes BID x10 days
4. LRS 30 ml SQ SID x4 days
5. Nebulize BID x4 days
6. Monitor weight gain
7. Retest for FeLV in 3 months
