***SAFE 10/15/16*** ARIES IS THE SIGN OF THE RAM, BUT IN THIS CASE IT’S THE SIGN OF THE HEAD-BUTTER!!…..ARIES is a NEUTERED, four year old who is a head butt master….”Aries head-butts vigorously and leans against the assessor. His tail quivers excitedly and he begins to purr. He continues to solicit attention and is very affectionate throughout the interaction”…..But despite all that affection, the ACC gave him a cold instead of an adopter and now he’s listed!!…..Colds can be cured but what the ACC has in store for tomorrow can’t be….PLEASE HELP ARIES BUTT HIS WAY OUT OF THE ACC BY FOSTERING OR ADOPTING HIM!!

10/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Aries was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was calm and relaxed upon intake, walking back and forth into the carrier. He allowed all handling during the intake process, but he became increasingly agitated with extended handling during his initial medical exam. The enrichment facilitator reports he was resting calmly when approached, but approaches the front for attention during their first interaction. He allowed petting all over his body and would lean in for more, lightly head-butting. Reaction to assessor: Aries was lying down, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Aries slowly approaches the front and leans against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Aries remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Aries head-butts vigorously and leans against the assessor. His tail quivers excitedly and he begins to purr. He continues to solicit attention and is very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to pick up: Aries was tense during pick up and wiggles to be placed back down. His tail sways from side to side, but he continues to solicit attention when coaxed. Behavior Determination: Average Aries interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
